Warsaw—In the Polish capital to attend and address the Political Assembly of the European People’s Party, Armenia’s first minister of foreign affairs and founder of the Heritage Party Raffi K. Hovannisian met today with EPP President Joseph Daul.
Daul and Hovannisian held an in-depth discussion on Armenia’s recent velvet revolution, its causes and prospects, as well as on geopolitical developments in the region and Heritage-EPP relations.

Today, April 22, Serzh Sargsyan, the Republic's de facto prime minister and chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia, an observer member of the European People's Party (EPP), ordered and effected the arrests of members of parliament Nikol Pashinyan, Sasun Mikayelyan and Ararat Mirzoyan, as well as hundreds of rank-and-file citizens who were peacefully protesting for justice in the country and particularly for his resignation.
